I wanted to thank Eric Van Grootheest for his Letter to the Editor addressing the important topic of climate change. As Mr. Van Grootheest is undoubtedly aware, given his interest in the topic, this past winter was the warmest winter on the planet in recorded history, surpassing the previous record set in 2007. Given how cold it was in this region of the world, it may have been difficult for many readers not as well informed as Mr. Van Grootheest to be aware of that fact, so writing such a sarcasm-laden article will no doubt bring attention of that fact to who would not otherwise have known about that. I want to encourage others to take his lead and spread the real truth about the world we live in, to not be misled by those who would try to distract us with limited pieces of information taken out of context.
