2018-19 presenting series highlights Canadian women

The Fergus Grand Theatre presenting series is back for another year. After a successful start in 2017-18 this year the series has expanded from three shows to five.

This year’s series is simply entitled Her, with each show headlined by a female artist or group.

“Building this series has been a lot of work, and a lot of fun,” said Eric Goudie, theatre coordinator.

“Each of the artists that we are presenting offer something different, but they all share in common a great sound and a compelling story. I can’t wait to see them come across our stage.”

The season kicks off on Oct. 13 with Oh Susanna, a Canadian songstress with a voice that can pierce a heart of stone. Her superbly crafted songs are tales of longing and love, of small town joys and pains, of our simple feelings and strong passions. Her latest album, A Girl in Teen City, has been met with high critical acclaim and earned three Canadian Folk Music Award nominations.

Four more shows will follow: Dirty Dishes on Dec, 1, The O’Pears on Feb. 1, Alysha Brilla on March 29 and Evalyn Parry’s SPIN on April 26. A five show-subscription is available for $125, and single tickets are $35 each, available in the box office, by phone at 519-787-1981 or online at www.fergusgrandtheatre.ca.
