On Aug. 18, the Mission Thrift Store in Fergus held its second annual Family Fun Day, with free activities ranging from live music to a barbecue, bouncy castle, games and face painting.
Favourable weather encouraged a good turn-out, with the store itself hopping with people enjoying a range of discounts on the day.
Store Manager Nathan Martin said, “today is about reaching out to our community to thank local individuals, businesses and families for their support and generosity over the past year. We are so blessed to live in this close and caring community, because only through their donations and the efforts of our wonderful volunteers are we able to succeed in empowering our neighbours in need, in this community and ultimately in over 40 countries worldwide.”
Martin offered thanks to all those who came out for the day, to those providing generous donations and the hard work by volunteers to make the event a success.
“It was a great day overall and we look forward to doing this again next year,” he said.
