The Minto Youth Action Council (MYAC) is bringing the Amazing Race back to the Harriston Street Party.
Attendees are urged to look for the MYAC booth at the downtown event on Aug. 11 from noon to 2pm for an afternoon of puzzles, activities and fun for youth ages 12 and up.
Adult allies and youth members of the council have dedicated their time over the past few months to organizing an event that not only provides opportunities for youth to engage in their community, but also encourages local businesses to unite with the younger members of the town.
“Planning for the Amazing Race this year has been a great experience. We’ve had a lot of fun making the event unique to our town by incorporating both businesses and their ideas and the youth and theirs. I think that this is something that the youth in our area will really enjoy,” says youth action council member Erin Raftis.
Youth interested in participating must register by Aug. 3 by picking up and returning forms to the Minto town office local library or by emailing youth@town.minto.on.ca.
Entry is by donation and all proceeds will be donated to North for Youth.
