Fergus firefighters will be passing around a boot on Sept. 15 for a good cause.
Council recently authorized the fundraising toll booth on Tower Street in Fergus on Sept. 15 from 8am to 4pm on behalf of Muscular Dystrophy Canada.
Council recently received the annual report from the Fergus Firefighters Association, which indicated the group has provided a special event permit application, a certificate of insurance and has notified the Wellington County OPP.
The county’s roads committee and Police Services Board have provided letters in support of toll booths throughout Wellington, provided they adhere to the amended Safe Street Act and the Highway Traffic Act.
