Tony Daciuk donates $50,000 to Louise Marshall Hospital Foundation

Tony Daciuk was recognized on May 30 by the Mount Forest Louise Marshall Hospital Foundation (LMHF) for his commitment of $50,000 to support several inpatient projects at the hospital.

The cheque presentation took place at Birmingham Retirement Community where Daciuk resides.

Along with his wife Joan, Daciuk supported the hospital for many years, officials say.

With his wife’s passing earlier this year at Louise Marshall Hospital, Daciuk became aware of the many levels of health care support offered at Mount Forest care facility.

“The hospital has been good for Joan and me. This gift demonstrates my thanks for the excellent care we have received,” explained Daciuk.

Gianni Accettola, manager of patient care, said, “On behalf of all of us at the hospital, I would like to thank Tony for this amazing gift towards new mattresses, renovations of the palliative care room and the purchase of two new recliners for family members to stay overnight with their loved ones.

“All of these things are needed and without this funding, they would have been delayed for several years.”

The 2018-19 hospital equipment list is extensive and is valued at $429,000.

“The foundation knows Tony as a longtime friend. This is an exceptional gift in memory of Joan that will have an immediate effect for our patients,” said Jane Ford, hospital development officer.
