Alma Women’s Institute members were guest speakers at the spring meeting of the Wellington County Historical Society.
At the May 6 meeting, held at the Wellington County Museum and Archives, the group highlighted the comprehensive collection of photos, stories and family histories that are published in their Tweedsmuir History books. A tribute to Ruth Grose for typing every single page of the Tweedsmuir collection over the past 45 years was made at the meeting.
The group has been documenting local history – recording the pioneer stories, special events and business in the area.
The books are now on virtual archives at the Wellington County Museum so anyone anywhere in the world can now access the information.
The WI continues to work on collecting local history for its next edition of Tweedsmuir History book.
