The weather is getting warmer and spring is finally here. Now is the time to book your spring tree planting project with Credit Valley Conservation (CVC).
CVC offers two programs to landowners – one offering tree seedlings and the other offering potted plants. The tree seedling program requires a minimum purchase of 1,500 seedlings and the potted plant program requires a minimum purchase of 100 potted plants.
Both programs are available to landowners with two or more acres of property.
CVC has been planting trees since 1956. Over the past 10 years, CVC planted approximately 900,000 trees through the two programs.
“CVC’s forestry experts will do the work for you,” said Rod Krick, manager of terrestrial restoration and management at CVC.
“We create a customized planting plan for your property, take care of delivery and planting, and provide you with free technical assistance to keep your trees healthy.”
Planting trees provides benefits. They attract wildlife, increase your property value, improve forest cover and the quality of the natural environment. By planting trees, you may also save money on your property taxes through the Managed Forest Tax Incentive Program.
