On June 2, Pine Meadows is hosting a community garage sale.
The annual sale is at 8473 Wellington County Road 19 between Fergus and Belwood from 7:30am to noon.
“We only moved here about a year ago and I was blown away by the crowds of people who came and the distances they travelled,” said resident Sandra Soloman. “Apparently, this has been the case for many years.”
She added community garage sales benefit everyone.
“For the residents of Pine Meadows, it is the camaraderie as we all prepare for ‘our’ garage sale and the knowledge that together we will be bringing hundreds of people to see our treasures,” she said. “For the outside community, it is an opportunity to shop at between 40 to 60 locations, all in a very small area.”
Items for sale range from golfing equipment generated by those who have retired from the game, to children’s toys from those whose grandchildren have outgrown them.
Each resident is responsible for their own garage sale, which takes place in their own driveway.
Pine Meadows is having several fundraisers for Groves hospital this year.
This year, a concession stand is being run by the Fergus Scouts.
