Guelph-Eramosa Township has appointed a new municipal law enforcement and property standards officer.
On March 19 it was announced that Ivan Lunevski will be taking on the role.
The bylaw reads “the municipal law enforcement officer and property standards officer shall exercise all authority, powers and rights, and shall perform all duties and obligations, which by statute or bylaw are or may be conferred or imposed and enforce all bylaws of the corporation of the township of Guelph-Eramosa and all other duties that may be imposed by council.”
Consent application – Wellington Road 7
Council has supported a lot line adjustment at 5879 Wellington Road 7. The proposal is to sever a 0.06 hectare portion of the residential lot fronting on the 8th Line with an adjacent residential lot fronting onto Wellington Road 7.
The retained parcel will be 0.1 ha with 20.3m of frontage on Wellington Road 7.
Council supports the application as long the owners of the retained lands and the lands to be merged obtain a minor variance to recognize the undersized area and deficient lot frontage.
The owner of the retained lands will also be required to get a minor variance for deficient interior side yard setbacks.
Consent application – Evert Street
The applicant owns lands in Everton and is requesting a lot line adjustment to sever a 0.049 ha parcel of land to be merged with the lands at 111 Evert Street.
The adjacent lands have a house and the severed land is zoned agricultural and contains a garden.
The retained lands are 0.646 ha with 130. m of frontage on the unopened William Street road allowance and 50.3m of frontage on an unopened road allowance. It is a vacant agricultural lot that is outside the urban boundary.
“The severed parcel is zoned for agricultural uses, but has historically been used as a garden by the owners of 111 Evert Street,” township planning consultant Rachel Martin wrote in a planning report.
“The proposed severance changes the lot fabric and ownership, but is not proposing to remove any additional viable lands from agricultural production.
“The severed lot has been used as if it were part of the ownership of 111 Evert Street and has limited agricultural production potential due to its size and vegetation.”
Council supported the consent application but the owner must obtain a minor variance for both the severed and retained lands to recognize the undersized lots.
