Centre Wellington Seedy Saturday held March 17

On  March 17, the second annual Centre Wellington Seedy Saturday was a popular morning activity for local gardeners.

The event, held at the Wellington County Museum and Archives, was organized by the Fergus Horticultural Society and the Elora and Salem Horticultural Society.

The seed exchange table, the main attraction, was well stocked with an equal number of vegetable and flower seed packets and society members were on hand to give advice on planting and growing requirements.

Other attractions were vendors of seeds, bulbs, plants and garden produce and information kiosks giving advice on invasive plants, pollinating insects and gardening problems. Children were not forgotten. They were entertained with creative activities and each took home a scarlet runner bean plant.
