An Erin man is one of two people facing drug, fraud and other charges after police found them with a stolen vehicle last week.
On March 26 at about 4:40am, a Wellington County OPP officer on patrol on Wellington Road 49 in Guelph Eramosa saw a man walking about 30 feet from a pickup truck that was “half on/half off” the roadway.
Police also saw a man in the passenger seat of the vehicle, which was allegedly stolen from Waterloo Region.
Michael Edward Clarke, 45, of Erin, was charged with unauthorized possession of an identity document, obstructing a peace officer, possession of cocaine, possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000, unauthorized use of a credit card, fraud under $5,000 and three counts of possession of property obtained by crime. He was held for bail.
Richard St. Amour, 38, of Mississauga, was charged with unauthorized possession of an identity document, possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000 and two counts of possession of property obtained by crime. He is to appear in Guelph court on April 27.
