The last chance for residents to comment on a proposed 50m telecommunications tower at 459 South River Road ends on March 21.
Shared Network Canada states there is an increased need for “near-flawless” wireless communication in Elora and the surrounding areas. An information package from Shared Network Canada states the tower will allow all carriers to improve cellphone coverage.
Telecommunications tower/antenna systems are regulated by federal legislation and administered by the Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada (ISEDC).
The ISEDC makes the final decision on whether a tower can be built, though the host municipality can provide comments.
