Armed robbers strike RBC bank in Moorefield

Police are investigating an armed robbery at the RBC bank here on Tuesday afternoon.

OPP officers responded to the  bank on McGivern Street at about 2:15pm.

“It was reported that two males wearing disguises entered the RBC Bank and stole an undetermined amount of cash,” police stated in a press release.

“One suspect was carrying a handgun. The males left the bank and got into a vehicle that may have been operated by a third party.”

Police described the vehicle as a four-door black sedan that was last seen travelling northeast on McGivern Street (Wellington Road 10) towards Wellington Road 8.

OPP Constable Josh Cunningham told the Advertiser that officers were reviewing surveillance video and looking for physical evidence at the scene, including a footprint left in snow.
