A fund has been set up to accept donations for a local man who was badly burned in a Feb. 8 fire at his home.
Minto resident Brent Crispin was attempting to light a corn stove when a flashback occurred.
Wellington County OPP reported that Crispin was able to roll in the snow to extinguish the fire and then left the premises to seek help.
Seriously burned, he was airlifted from a local hospital to Hamilton General Hospital, where he was placed in a medically-induced coma to facilitate the healing process.
Steven and Cori MacDougall of Waterloo, former Harriston residents and friends of Crispin, have set up a fund to accept donations to help Crispin and his family through the recovery process.
“He has a very long road to recovery,” the MacDougall’s state in a Facebook post promoting the fund.
“Brent is unable to work to support his family and pay his bills … We want him to spend his energy on recovery and not worrying about his bills.”
Donations can be made through the Harriston CIBC branch.
