Many thefts across county

OPP officials say there have been many recent thefts across the county.

FERGUS – Sometime overnight between Dec. 16 and 17 someone entered a vehicle on Johnston Street North here and stole a child’s three-wheeled-scooter. The scooter is a Micro Scooter brand, Maxi Micro Kickboard model, blue with black accents, and adjustable T-bar handle, valued at about $200.

ERIN – Sometime between August and December 2017 someone stole 30 fencing panels from a construction site on Wellington Road 125, near Ospringe. The panels, valued at about $4,000 total, are described as ten-by-six feet in size and made of steel/metal composite.

HARRISTON –  Sometime overnight between Dec. 18 and 19, someone smashed a window in a 2007 GMC pickup that was for sale at an Arthur Street business here and stole the factor-installed GM stereo.

ARTHUR – Sometime overnight between Dec. 19 and 20 someone entered an unlocked vehicle on Carrol Street here and stole four 215-55-18 Cooper tires mounted on five-spoke rims valued at about $1,500.

CLIFFORD – Sometime between 8:30am and 12:30pm on Dec. 22 someone  smashed a window of a vehicle at the library here and stole the owner’s pink leather purse.

GUELPH-ERAMOSA – On Dec. 26, Wellington County OPP responded to a report of a theft of construction materials and tools from a residential build on Wellington Road 30 in Guelph-Eramosa. Police say someone stole Timberland HD shingles, charcoal in colour, 15 rolls of ice and water shield, four rolls of storm shield and an air compressor – with a total value of over $5,000.

ERIN – On Dec. 31 at about 1:40pm suspects operating a pickup truck entered the yard of the business on Sideroad 17 here and  emptied an open bin filled with scrap copper (tubing for plumbing and copper wire). into the truck. The suspects then left through the main gate. The OPP are asking for assistance in identifying the vehicle involved, possibly a white Ford pickup truck older than 2009 with racing stripes on the hood and the tailgate. The truck had cab lights on the roof and wooden sides going up the bed of the truck to hold the scrap metal.
