Guelph support worker charged with sexual assault

A female support worker involved with youths with complex needs has been charged with sexual assault.

On Nov. 29 Guelph Police Service commenced an investigation into allegations against a support worker at Avalon Horizon Inc., which provides treatment, including foster care, for children and teens with complex needs (emotional, mental health, trauma, etc.).

On Nov. 30 Brittany Hastings, 23, of Guelph,  was arrested and charged with sexual assault and sexual exploitation in relation to incidents that occurred from March to October 2017.

Police say Hastings was a support worker with Avalon Horizon Inc. from January to November.

“Avalon Horizon have been fully cooperative with the Guelph Police during this investigation,” police stated in a press release.
