The Elora Centre for the Arts (ECFTA) is looking for a few people to share the warmth of the local community as they raise funds to cover boiler replacement costs.
While the ECFTA appreciates support of the donors and volunteers over the past year, the boiler has presented a new challenge for the centre, organizers state.
In November, it was discovered the boiler had to be replaced. This came as a surprise since recent extensive upgrades were done to the room and radiator system as a result of an Ontario 150 Community Capital Program grant administered by the Ontario Trillium Foundation.
Organizers note that staff, volunteers and directors have worked incredibly hard to ensure programs and exhibits would continue, and tenants have shown great patience.
The goal of the “Boiler Blitz” is to pay off the financed $26,700 as soon as possible. The hope is to raise $20,000 by Jan. 31.
Tax receipts will be issued for minimum donations of $20.
Donations can be dropped off at the arts centre – 55 Melville Street in Elora – or though the Canada Helps link at eloracentreforthearts.ca.
