On Dec. 29 Wellington County OPP received a report of an assault in progress at a restaurant on Smith Street here.
Police say two men were involved in a physical altercation at the restaurant and “it appeared that they were going to fight again” outside the establishment.
“The victim, who was sitting with several children, intervened and was assaulted by the younger male,” police stated.
The men are not known to the witnesses or victim, who did not require medical treatment.
But they left together prior to police arrival in a silver/grey car.
