Centre Wellington Mayor Kelly Linton has partnered with Canadian Blood Services to help ensure lifesaving blood products are available to hospital patients in need.
Linton has adopted the Fergus blood donor clinic on Oct. 24 and has committed to recruiting new donors and fill appointments to help collect 115 blood donations at the clinic.
“I am honoured to be able to encourage new and existing donors to make a real difference in the lives of Canadian hospital patients,” said Linton.
“This year Canadian Blood Services needs 100,000 new donors across Canada and Fergus residents can participate.
“I invite Fergus residents to join me on Oct. 24. Make an appointment to donate blood to help ensure blood is available to all who need it.”
Potential donors can take part by making an appointment to “Give Life” at the Fergus blood donor clinic at the Centre Wellington Community Sportsplex on Oct. 24 from 2 to 8pm.
