OPP officials are hoping to identify and speak to a man who offered to drive a girl home from school earlier this week.
On Oct. 3 at about 3:25pm Wellington County OPP received a complaint of a driver approaching a girl on Ferrier Street at Elgin Street in Fergus.
Police say an 11-year-old girl, who had just gotten off her school bus, was approached on Ferrier Street by someone in a dark blue, four-door car.
The driver pulled alongside the girl and asked her if she wanted a ride home.
The girl declined and once she got home told her mother, who called the OPP.
Police describe the driver as a white male, about 65 years old, with a normal build, “baldish” head with short white hair, and a grey beard/moustache a few inches in length. He had a deep voice and was wearing a baggy T-shirt.
Anyone who has any information about this driver is asked to call Wellington County OPP at 1-888-310-1122.
