Elora’s Shawn Lantz was one of five free agents signed last week by the Toronto Rock of the National Lacrosse League.
“All five of these players have earned an opportunity to attend our camp and compete for a spot,” said Toronto Rock owner and general manager Jamie Dawick.
“All of these players have taken different paths to get to this point in their respective careers and now is their chance to make the most of it and turn some heads. We have a very deep camp roster and this will be a very competitive training camp.”
Lantz scored 13 goals and added 29 assists for 42 points in 20 games this summer with the Kitchener-Waterloo Braves Jr. A team. He signed a one-year deal with the Rock, pending league approval.
Training camp is slated to begin on Nov. 3. The team plays three exhibition games before the season starts on Dec. 8.
