Community opened the game late in the first period. Graham Wideman took a hard shot on net and Colin Snyder tipped the puck into the open corner.
Community added a second goal midway through the second. Brent Cochrane worked the puck toward the net and dropped a pass to Joe Gerbe. Gerbe sent the puck into the high corner with a wrist shot. Kyle Wideman also assisted on the play.
Community put the game away with their third goal midway through the final period. Kevin Gingrich skated into a loose puck and rifled it over the glove of the Listowel net minder.
Chris Stevens turned back 19 shots to record the first shut out of the season.
MISSIONARY 5 BETHEL 2
Bethel struck first in the opening period with a nice play tight along the net. A late pass by Ian Martin gave Alex Martin a shot into the near side corner. Assisted also by Matt Martin.
Missionary took the lead with two quick goals late in the period Bryan Deen sliced the puck into the open corner to tie the game. Thomas Rottimann finished a scramble at the net with a shot over a fallen goaltender. Devin McGuire and Curtis Bults drew assists.
Missionary added a power play goal to start off the second. Set up plays by Dustin Bults and Thomas Rottimann gave McGuire the puck at the top of the circle. McGuire snapped the puck in with a rising wrist shot.
Missionary seemed to put the game away in the third period with another goal. A leading pass by McGuire gave Dustin Bults a break away rush. Bults beat the glove of the goaltender for the goal.
Bethel came back to narrow the Missionary lead. Laverne Metzger rolled the puck over the shoulder of the goalie to drop it into the net. Assists went to Bearinger and Wayne Martin.
Missionary responded with one final goal to finish the game. Rottimann scored the goal, assisted by Curtis Bults.
DRAYTON 3 FLORADALE 1
Floradale struck for the first goal but before the period ended Drayton had the lead. Gary Martin finished a scramble at the net for the Floradale goal, assisted by Nick and Ryan Martin.
Drayton came back with two quick goals to take the lead. Eric Deckers tied the game with a shot in the short side, and Joe Heenan scored the unassisted go-ahead goal.
Drayton padded their lead in the second. A quick rush down the ice by Jess Hoestra and Eric Deckers gave Jason Mohle a shot into the near side corner.
Floradale pressed hard in the third, out-shooting Drayton 14-2. However relief goaltender Charlie Wagler held his ground and gave Drayton the win.
