The 11th Annual Taste Real Fall Rural Romp, set for Sept. 30, promises to be a day full of fun harvest activities.
Rompers will have the opportunity to taste their way through Southern Wellington County and Guelph on this self-guided farm and food tour to 14 participating locations, including farms, markets, a distillery and an agricultural research centre.
From food samples to freshly harvested carrots, farm tours to buggy rides, live music to kids activities, the Rural Romp will keep your feet moving, your stomach full and your table bursting with farm fresh food.
Feeding farm animals, trying food samples and strolling through farm fields are just some of the activities rompers can expect.
“The Rural Romp is much more than a just fun outing for the whole family. It’s a great opportunity to get to know some of our local famers and food entrepreneurs, look behind the scenes and learn where our food comes from,” said Christina Mann, Taste Real coordinator.
“You’ll also discover how diverse our local agriculture is, by visiting locations like an alpaca or ostrich farm.”
Participants are encouraged to share their Rural Romp adventures on Twitter/Facebook or Instagram using the hashtag #RuralRomp.
Additional activities at each location include a Photo contest, Guess the Weight of the Pumkin’ Game and a ‘Felfie’ (Farm Selfie) Contest.
