From Sept. 29 to Oct. 1, Centre Wellington along with the entire country will celebrate culture through a variety of Culture Days festivities.
Local culture contributes heavily to a vibrant community and local organizers are thrilled to once again be a part of the national celebrations.
“We are extremely lucky to have such a rich cultural community and it deserves to be recognized and celebrated.” said Elizabeth Bender, community development coordinator.
“Culture Days weekend is a great opportunity to interact with our cultural community and some of the best in local culture are being highlighted in the ever popular Culture Days Passport.”
Events and activities will take place across the community and this year’s passport showcases many local cultural groups, individuals, spaces and activities.
Culture Days is very interactive encouraging people to participate in everything from music to local history, dance, theatre to agriculture and so much more.
The best part is – all events are free.
PasSports are available online now at centrewellington.ca/passport or they can be picked up in person at the Elora Tourist and Information Centre, Centre Wellington Community Sportsplex, and Chamber of Commerce as of Sept. 25 or at any of the passport locations on Culture Days weekend.
Nationally, Culture Days is celebrating its eighth anniversary, with thousands of free activities from a wide range of disciplines in hundreds of cities and towns from coast to coast to coast.
The local kickoff of Culture Days is at the newly renovated Fergus Grand Theatre on Friday Sept. 29 at 7pm where local talent will demonstrate how vibrant Centre Wellington’s local culture really is.
