An Arthur man and a St. Marys man died in a head-on collision here last weekend.
On Sept. 9 at about 3:30pm emergency crews responded to the collision on Wellington Road 12 near Wellington Road 45 in Mapleton Township.
Police say the male driver of a 2015 Ford Explorer towing a boat was travelling south on Wellington Road 12. As the male driver of a northbound 2017 Jeep Compass came over a hill, the Explorer was in the northbound lanes.
The two vehicles collided head on and both drivers were pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the Explorer was identified as Beverly Coveny, 74, of St. Marys. His female passenger, also of St. Marys, was transported by air ambulance and was in critical but stable condition at London Health Sciences Centre.
The driver of the Compass was identified as Trevor Vollett, 38, of Arthur.
County Road 12 between County Road 45 and Fourth Line was closed while OPP Technical Traffic Collision Investigators (TTCI) were on scene.
