Seniors Information and Active Living Fair coming to Rockwood

Guelph-Eramosa is hosting its first Seniors Information and Active Living Fair on Sept. 12 at the Rockmosa Community Centre and the Older Adult Centre (OAC) in Rockmosa Park in Rockwood.

The event is sponsored jointly by the Older Adults Centres’ Association of Ontario and the Ministry of Seniors Affairs.

The Seniors Information and Active Living Fair is a public initiative, developed in partnership between the Older Adult Centres’ Association of Ontario (OACAO) and the Ministry of Seniors Affairs, to increase seniors awareness about the programs and services to which they are entitled, knowledge on healthy aging and lifestyles and recognition of seniors contributions.

The day’s activities will include snacks, refreshments and educational seminars including:

– Healthy eating “hunger and habits” at 10:30am presented by dietician Heidi Smith;

– Aging Safely in the New Millennium at 11:30am;

– Protect your Money at 12:30pm; and

– Fire Safety for Seniors at 1:30pm.

Pickleball, shuffleboard demonstrations and exhibitor booths at Rockmosa Community Centre will run from 1 to 3pm.

All members of the community are welcome to attend.

The first 150 attendees to the trade show will receive a free grab bag. There is no admission charge for this event.
