Mayor Kelly Linton says “summer is a great time to be part of Centre Wellington.”
In addressing council on Aug. 28, the mayor reviewed some of the local events and venues over the summer.
Before council got down to business, Linton said he wanted to comment on the great festivals over the summer in Centre Wellington.
“We had Riverfest and Elora was rocking that weekend. The town was busy, the music was going and I think a lot of people had a lot of fun,” he said.
The week prior to that was the 72nd Scottish Festival and Highland Games in Fergus, which was exciting, Linton said.
In July there were a few really great weeks of music at the Elora Festival.
“Most communities would love to have one of those festivals and we have three – along with countless other amazing arts and culture events throughout the whole summer,” Linton stated.
