Local police are reminding residents to lock their vehicles and remove the keys after a number of recent vehicle thefts.
The incidents include:
– on Aug. 3 a white 2010 Chevy pickup truck was stolen overnight from King Street in Mount Forest (the keys were in the vehicle, which was later recovered in a Southgate field near Mount Forest);
– on Aug. 13 a white 2015 GMC Terrain was stolen overnight from a garage on Aberfoyle Mill Crescent in Aberfoyle (the keys were in the vehicle, which was later recovered in Guelph);
– on Aug. 18 a blue 2005 Hummer H2 was stolen from a driveway on Lambeth Lane in Puslinch (the vehicle, which was running at the time, was later recovered with damages in Puslinch);
– on Aug. 21 a white 1999 GMC pickup truck was stolen from Smith Street in Arthur (the keys were in the vehicle, which was later recovered in Mapleton);
– on Aug. 29 a white 2014 Ford Focus was stolen from Main Street North in Mount Forest (the keys were in the vehicle, which was later recovered in Ayton); and
– on Sept. 3 a blue 2006 Chevy pickup truck was stolen from Bonniewood Drive in Drayton (the keys were in the vehicle, which, as of press time, had not been recovered).
