The Guelph Youth Music Centre (GYMC) has announced scholarships for students in need of financial assistance for the 2017-18 academic year.
The scholarships are made possible by a donation from the Canadian Federation of University Women (CFUW) Guelph.
“The generosity of the CFUW Guelph is exceptional,” said Gabriella Currie-Ziegler, executive director of the GYMC.
“This creates an opportunity for youth to learn and take part in programs they may not have otherwise been able to. The arts are an important part of everyone’s education and it’s important that it not be restricted to the few who can afford it.”
There are a limited number of scholarships, which are available on a first come, first serve basis for any student wishing to participate in a GYMC program.
Eligibility is as follows:
– children from birth through 18 years of age;
– children who live in Guelph or Wellington County;
– financial eligibility as determined.
Families with gross incomes below the threshold for household income levels (based on size) will be eligible for funding per child on a per session basis.
