Fergus Highland Rugby adopts local blood donor clinic in town on Aug. 22

Fergus Highland Rugby has partnered with Canadian Blood Services to help ensure lifesaving blood products are available to hospital patients in need.

Local rugby teams and their parents/supporters have adopted the Fergus blood donor clinic on Aug. 22 and are committed to recruit new donors and fill appointments to help collect 115 blood donations at the clinic.

“We are honoured to be able to encourage new and existing donors to make a real difference in the lives of Canadian hospital patients,” says Graeme Nelson.

“This year we need 100,000 new donors across Canada and Fergus residents can participate. Blood donors are needed even more in the summer.

“I invite Fergus residents to join us on Aug. 22. Make an appointment to donate blood to help ensure blood is available to all who need it.”

Local residents can take part by making an appointment to Give Life at the Fergus blood donor clinic.

The clinic will be at the Centre Wellington Sportsplex on Aug. 22 from 2 to 8pm.
