Wellington North will review the contract position of municipal poundkeeper in response to a motion from councillor Lisa Hern.
The motion asked staff to review the remuneration paid to the poundkeeper.
“The duties have proven that a call to a location could last several hours and could also be dangerous, requiring specialized livestock handling skills,” stated Hern’s motion.
The position is currently compensated a $75 flat rate plus mileage per call.
Council voted in favour.
