Police have issued a warrant for the arrest of a woman they say was captured on video unsuccessfully trying to steal electronics from the Walmart here.
On April 26 at about 8pm a “clumsy” woman was caught on camera trying to make off with $651 worth of stolen items in a cart, police say.
Chased by a staff member from the store, the woman stumbles and falls hard, possibly injuring her head and/or face and left side, while the cart topples over after hitting a curb. The woman then quickly flees.
On May 17 Wellington County OPP asked the public to help identify the woman and on July 25 police announced they have issued a warrant for the arrest of Stacey L. Fulford, 44, of Waterloo Region.
She is charged with uttering threats and two counts of theft under $5,000.
Police have stated staff at the store recognized the woman in the video from another alleged theft days earlier involving $2,494 worth of product.
“In both incidents the woman was assisted by unidentified suspects and part of a theft ring,” police stated in a press release.
Police are still trying to identity the woman’s alleged accomplices, whom they say are part of a part of a “theft ring.” They are described as:
– Male 1: white, 30 to 40 years old with short dark hair wearing dark sunglasses and a dark short sleeve shirt with blue jeans;
– Male 2: white, 30 to 40 years old wearing a red/white ball cap, a light colored sweater and khaki pants;
– Female 1: white, 20 to 30 years old wearing all black and prone to concealing her face;
– Female 2: white, 20 to 30 years old with long dark hair wearing a white shirt and black pants; and
– Female 3: white, 20 to 30 years old with long blond hair wearing a black sweater and black pants.
