The Donkey Sanctuary of Canada will officially launch Donkey Day 2017 on June 11 from 10am to 4pm.
Visitors can meet over 80 donkeys and mules and enjoy live entertainment, local food vendors, shopping at the marketplace and Long Ears Boutique and many activities for children and adults alike, including a bouncy castle, wagon rides and outdoor games.
The Donkey Sanctuary of Canada relies entirely upon private donations to support operations. The cost of basic care for one donkey is $1,500 per year, but could be more if the animal requires special care for injuries or ongoing illness.
The sanctuary provides a refuge for donkeys, mules and hinnies who have been neglected, abused or can no longer be cared for by their owners.
All proceeds from Donkey Day help provide for animals living at the Sanctuary, 6981 Concession 4, Puslinch.
Admission is adults $18, children $8 (3 to 12), students/seniors $12. Tickets and more information are available at thedonkeysanctuary.ca.
