The first meeting of the Mimosa 4-H Engineering Club was held on April 7.
When all members arrived, club leaders introduced themselves. They are: Megan, Jennifer and Carol.
Members watched a slideshow of forces that acted on a car. This was going to help us with our evening challenge: to build a car using only Dixie cups, paper and a balloon.
All members were then shown an example of what our finished products would look like. There were bags of supplies that members could use to make our cars creative – yet do so wisely.
Members began building. At the end of the 45-minute building time, some cars looked very interesting. We then tested all the cars. The 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners were announced.
Our meeting ended, and we planned to elect officers at the next meeting. We opened and closed the meeting with the 4-H pledge and motto.
