Canadian Cancer Society offers two local events

Join the Canadian Cancer Society on May 18 at the Italian Canadian Club in Guelph for the 8th Annual Hope and the City, your quintessential “Girls Night Out.”

This fundraiser, in support of women’s cancers (breast/cervical/ovarian/uterine cancers), celebrates hope and the beauty of being a woman.

Enjoy being pampered at numerous glamour stations, shopping at various vendor tables, participating in the Passport Challenge to win one of 24 prize packages, posing at the photo booth, bidding on live and silent auction items and more.

Doors open at 6pm and registration, which is $60 per person, includes:

– entry to the event and a chance to win a $500 cash prize;

– chicken and pasta dinner with rolls, salad, dessert, coffee and tea; and

– complimentary services at the glamour stations.

 The Canadian Cancer Society is also offering the Mudmoiselle obstacle course on Sept. 9 at Cox Creek Cellars. The Mudmoiselle obstacle course is a 5km stretch of Canada’s muckiest, filthiest, slimiest mud.

It’s where your inner child runs free while testing your endurance, strength and ability to keep a straight face.

This women’s only event is open to all fitness levels.

Whether you’re used to running 10k or just running after your toddler, you can take on this challenge. Go the extra muddy mile and reach the minimum $150 fundraising goal and then some.

Whether you’re a survivor or want to support a fighter, join your fellow Mudmoiselles in raising funds for cancer research and vital cancer support services. For more information visit www.mudmoiselle.ca.
