Calling all Moblees! The Moblees are on the move and they’re coming to Waterloo Region.
The popular CBC Kids’ program will debut the world premiere of its new stage show The Moblees Live! On A Wishin’ Mission at the St. Jacobs Country Playhouse for eight performances April 20 to 23.
“Kids love The Moblees, and we are very excited to offer audiences in Waterloo Region the opportunity to be the first to see this brand new show live on stage,” said Alex Mustakas, artistic director of Drayton Entertainment.
The Moblees Live! On A Wishin’ Mission is set on a special day in Terra Mova, and everyone is invited.
Bailey Butterfly, Dasha Dog, Gisbert Grasshopper and Sylvio Snake have planned a catter-cool surprise dance party for Carlin Caterpillar’s birthday but the Wishing Star has gone missing.
Carlin can’t blow out his candles until everyone uses their amazing Moblee moves to rescue the star and send it back to the sky.
So get ready to move, mighty Moblees, because audiences are invited to gallop, giggle, zig-zag twist and twirl through Terra Mova on this brand new, tail waggity wishin’ mission, live on stage.
“Bringing the very first original Moblees musical to the stage with Drayton Entertainment is my wish come true.” said Seth A. Goldstein, producer of The Moblees.
“This live show is where Moblees fans and their families can finally get up close and move with their friends from TV as they share a fantastic adventure together.”
David Connolly will direct and choreograph the production, which features stars from the TV series, Michelle Bouey as Dasha Dog, Scott Farley as Carlin Caterpillar, Chris George as Gisbert Grasshopper, Matthew Nethersole as Sylvio Snake, and introduces Danielle Wade as Bailey Butterfly.
The Moblees is a multi-platform entertainment brand that fosters healthy, active living and inspires preschool and early-elementary children and their families to move more in their daily lives.
The television series airs on CBC Kids at 7:30am and can be streamed online.
Each episode of The Moblees is a mini-musical featuring original, interactive songs that turn home viewers into home do-ers.
The series has been nominated for the Youth Media Alliance Award for Best Preschool Series and the Shaw Rocket Prize.
Providing early intervention strategies to reduce childhood obesity, The Moblees was developed by a team of industry leaders in entertainment, medicine, nutrition, and education.
