Police here are investigating several break-ins at businesses across the county.
ERIN – On Feb. 8 Wellington County OPP received a report of an overnight break-in at Tintagels Tea Room on Main Street here.
Police say someone got in the building through a rear window and stole a small amount of cash.
ERIN – On Feb. 10 the Wellington County OPP received a report of a break-in at Holtom’s Bakery on Main Street in the Town of Erin sometime between Feb. 7 and 9.
Police say the rear door of the business was damaged during the incident, but it appears nothing was taken.
MOUNT FOREST – On Feb. 11 at about 2:33am Wellington County OPP responded to an alarm call at the Grech Outdoors Gunsmithing Store located on Fergus Street South in Mount Forest.
Police say someone threw a cinder block against the window of the overhead garage door in an attempt to gain access to the building.
“The window was smashed and the alarm activated but entry into the building was not made,” police stated in a press release.
They say the suspect(s) fled the scene when the alarm was activated.
