The OPP wrapped up its Festive RIDE campaign on a sad note recently, with a total of six people losing their lives and many people injured in 270 crashes involving impaired driving over seven-weeks.
OPP officers conducted more than 7,340 RIDE Stop initiatives throughout the province, charging 610 drivers with impaired driving between Nov. 21 and Jan. 7 (of which 22 were drug-impaired).
An additional 388 drivers were issued warning range suspensions for driving with a blood-alcohol concentration of .05 to .08.
Wellington County OPP had not released local Festive RIDE results by press time.
