Wellington North is moving ahead with the next phase for the Arthur wastewater treatment plant.
Council directed staff at the Dec. 19 meeting to issue a request for proposals to four firms for detailed design and construction of the plant.
The township received letters of interest from eight engineering firms. Through consultation with XCG Consultants Ltd. the township was able to whittle the selection to four firms: CIMA Canada Inc, Hatch Corporation, R.J. Burnside and Associates Limited and J.L. Richards and Associates Limited.
Phase 4 of the environmental assessment process was recently completed and the township is now proceeding with phase 5, implementation of the project.
The detailed design portion of the project could cost $1 million.
