Wellington-Halton Hills MPP Ted Arnott is adding his voice to support Puslinch’s bid to exclude the Highway 401 and Highway 6 corridors from the province’s Greenbelt Plan Area.
On Nov. 23 Puslinch councillors briefly discussed the MPP’s correspondence in support of the township resolution passed earlier this year.
In his letter to Minister of Municipal Affairs Bill Mauro, Arnott stated Puslinch council is concerned about provincial plans to expand the Greenbelt Plan Area in southern Wellington County, including Puslinch.
He said the township is asking that if the province proceeds with the expansion of the Greenbelt, lands within two kilometers of the Highway 401 corridor and Highway 6 be specifically excluded from the current and proposed Greenbelt Plan Area to accommodate and develop employment lands.
Arnott added, “I support township council’s position and urge you to ensure that these lands are left out …”
