Sometime during the first week of October, a trumpeter swan was shot at Luther Marsh, northeast of Arthur.
At about 9am on Oct. 10, a second trumpeter swan was shot at the same location. These birds are part of a restoration program, and were marked with a metal leg band and two large yellow wing tags. They are distinctive in that they are a large bird with a wing span of at least five feet and with a black bill.
