This NDCHL hockey game went through two scoreless periods before a victor emerged.
Midway through the third period Braedon Gingrich slipped a pass to Josh Brohman, who finally beat a busy Derek Wideman in net to give Floradale the only goal of the game for the victory.
Colin Horst faced 25 shots in net to earn his shut out.
COMMUNITY 4 DRAYTON 1
Community grabbed two unanswered goals in the first period to set up the lead. Kevin Gingrich scored the first goal and set up Tony Martin for the second goal.
Drayton held onto the second period, keeping Community off the scoreboard and claiming a goal of their own. Eric Deckers scored the goal midway through the period. Herman Mulder assisted.
However Kevin Gingrich worked his magic again in the third scoring another pair of goals to complete his hat trick, assisted by Luke Burns and Tony Martin.
MISSIONARY 5 LISTOWEL 2
Both teams skated hard for the first period but were denied any activity on the scoreboard.
Midway through the second period Missionary snagged a couple quick goals. Dylan Bults scored an unassisted goal, followed by a Matt Burnett marker assisted by Nathan Rhame.
Listowel came back to score a goal early in the third period. Ray Jantzi snapped a shot off a pass from Travis Shantz to beat the net minder.
That was as close as Listowel would get. Missionary responded with an explosion of three more quick goals. Dustin Bults scored all three for a third period hat trick. Nathan Rhame, Zachary Franklin and Calvin Martin drew assists.
Andrew Jantzi scored a final goal for Listowel in the dying minute, but the game had already been decided.
COMMUNITY 4 MISSIONARY 3
A strong first period carried Community to victory.
Community stacked up four goals in the first period then hung on for the win. Luke Burns led the charge with two goals and one assist. Kevin Gingrich scored once and assisted on two others. Tony Martin scored a single goal and Gerald Martin gathered a single assist.
Missionary responded for one goal in the first period and added two in the third. Dustin Bults was in all three points with two goals and an assist. Dylan Bults added a goal and an assist. Scott Vandenpas and Nathan Rhame each earned an assist.
FLORADALE 5 LISTOWEL 0
Floradale scored twice in the second and three times in the third period,enroute to a shutout win over the Listowel squad.
Javon Martin scored once and assisted on two.
Others goals were scored by Clinton Dechert, Josh Brohman, Gary Martin and Corey Wideman. Assists were earned by Josh Brohman, Braedon Gingrich, and Corey Wideman.
DRAYTON 4 BETHEL 0
Four unanswered goals through three periods kept Drayton in first place. Darren Mohle scored in the first. Tyson Roubos and Aaron Keunen scored in the second. Eric Decker scored the only goal in the third. Assists were earned by Tyson Roubos, Jason Mohle, Brandon Rumph and Riley Duimering.
