Wellington County OPP investigated two vehicle thefts from Oct. 1 to 3.
The first was a 2011 silver Ford Fiesta stolen from Centre Wellington, and the second a 2003 black and green Arctic ATV from Erin.
Police are reminding residents to:
– always roll up vehicle windows and lock the doors;
– never leave vehicles unattended while they are running;
– if using a garage, lock the door as well as vehicle doors;
– never leave car keys in plain view or in an easily accessible area;
– always park in a well-lit area; and
– never leave valuable objects or packages in full view.
OPP officials also state stolen vehicles are often used to commit other crimes, to flee from police and/or used as weapon against police.
Police urge anyone who sees suspicious persons or activity near their vehicle or on their property, or anyone with information regarding this crime to call Wellington County OPP at 1-888-310-1122.
