Local actors recognized at GLT Arthur Awards Night gala

Guelph Little Theatre held its gala Arthur Awards night on Sept. 10 at the theatre on Morris Street in Guelph.

The evening was hosted by local talent James Gordon, who kept the evening moving along in a very lively manner, organizers state.

Actors, directors, producers and members of casts and crews from the previous season’s productions all came to celebrate and to recognize their very best.

For theatre members, winning the coveted Arthur is like earning an Academy Award.

Just to be nominated is a recognition of a job well done, but to win, that is a real honour and competition is certainly fierce.

Although there were many categories of winners that the theatre congratulates, there was one very special award: the Lifetime of Dedication Award.

This was presented to Trevor Smith Diggins who has not only dedicated his services to Guelph Little Theatre through acting, directing, producing and volunteering for almost every job possible within community theatre, but has also been involved throughout Ontario as an adjudicator, coach and play polisher.

When he’s not in a theatre, Diggins provides media training, performance coaching and communication strategy for corporate clients.
