The 10th annual fall Wellington Rural Romp, set for Sept. 24 will provide participants with a great day full of fun harvest activities.
Rompers will have the opportunity to taste their way through southern Wellington County and Guelph on this self-guided farm and food tour. The 14 participating locations include farms, markets, a distillery and a tea room. From herb tasting to freshly baked apple crisps, farm tours to buggy rides, live music to kids activities, the Rural Romp will keep moving, your stomach full and your table bursting with farm fresh food.
Feeding farm animals, trying food samples and strolling through farm fields are just some of the activities rompers can expect.
“On the Rural Romp, you get to meet the people behind your food, hear their stories and see first-hand where your food comes from,” said Christina Mann, Taste Real coordinator.
Participants are encouraged to share their adventures on Twitter, Facebook or Instagram using the hashtag #FallRomp16.
Additional activities at each location include a photo contest, guess the weight of the pumpkin game and a “felfie” (farm selfie) contest.
