A local man has died, three days after his wheelchair was struck by a minivan.
On June 19 at about 6:20pm, emergency crews were called to collision between a Dodge minivan and a wheelchair occupied by a man near the intersection of Elora Street South and Yonge Street in Harriston.
Wellington County OPP officials say wheelchair operator Normand Belair, 55, of Harriston was taken to local hospital by ambulance and then airlifted to a London hospital with serious injuries.
Three days later, on June 22, Belair succumbed to his injuries.
The driver of the minivan, a 69-year-old Harriston woman was not injured.
Police say the cause of the collision is still under investigation and encourage any witnesses to call 1-888-310-1122.
