Doors Open kicks off June 11 in Wellington County

Erin will be the first municipality to throw open its doors to the public in the 2016 Doors Open Ontario event.

Doors Open Ontario 2016 focuses on the province’s rich legacy of medical science and innovation.

While Erin has been a part of Doors Open Ontario previously in 2007 and 2008, it was a part of Headwaters. Economic development officer Robyn Mulder said the town would try to revive it and branch off on their own.

On June 11 from 10am to 4pm, 11 buildings will be open for the public to come in and check out.

Notable stops during the event include the Erin Indoor Recreation Centre, Hillsburgh Station 50, Everdale organic teaching farm and a number of churches in both Erin and Hillsburgh.

The full brochure for the event can be found at http://www.doorsopenontario.on.ca/Events/Erin.aspx.

Savage will be open to the public.
