Bridge work requires closure of Wellington Road 22

Wellington County has hired a contractor to complete repairs (replace end fascia and header walls, install guiderail) to its bridge on Wellington Road 22 just east of Highway 6.

County construction manger Mark Eby stated in an email that the work will be completed under a full road closure slated beginning around May 30 “or when we receive MTO approval for the detour signs on Highway 6.”

Eby said work is expected to last approximately four weeks.  Traffic will be detoured around the bridge on Jones Baseline and Guelph-Nichol Townline.

Eby indicated all businesses and residences in the area will be accessible throughout the closure.
