When approaching an officer in the parking lot of a police station, it's probably best not to be driving a car full of illegal drugs.
But that's exactly what police allege happened on Tuesday at the Wellington County OPP Centre Wellington operations centre.
On May 24 at about 5:15pm, an OPP officer spoke with a man at his vehicle in the parking lot of the OPP station in Aboyne.
"The smell of marijuana was coming from the vehicle and an item associated with drug use was seen in the car," police stated in a press release.
OPP spokesman Constable Bob Bortolato said the man "pulled in to the lot with the intention to speak with police. An officer was outside and approached the car."
Police arrested the male driver and a female passenger and searched the vehicle.
Inside, police allege they found cocaine, amphetamine, marijuana, psilocybin mushrooms, Xanax, steroids and marijuana plants.
John Dipisa, 22, of Centre Wellington, and Hailey Caryn, 20, of Chatham, were each charged with:
– possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking;
– possession of amphetamine for the purpose of trafficking;
– possession of marijuana (under 3kg) for the purpose of trafficking;
– possession of psilocybin mushrooms for the purpose of trafficking;
– possession of Xanax (alprazolam/benzodiazepine) for the purpose of trafficking;
– possession of steroids (nandrolone decanoate) for the purpose of trafficking; and
– producing cannabis marijuana.
Dipisa is also charged with violating a court order. He was in Guelph bail court on May 25.
Caryn is to attend Guelph court on June 28.
